The cup works and does what it is suppose to do. I’m just having a hard time inserting and it feeling comfortable.
I purchased the Saalt cup from REI since I was a first time buyer and I accidentally got the wrong size. I picked up a regular.
I learned about Bloody Buddy before Saalt, but felt too skeptical to buy from Instagram. However, once I got the Saalt cup, the rims were protruding and the grips were difficult to use.
I was told by my friend it shouldn’t be this uncomfortable and I finally decided to buy The Bloody Buddy. It has rimless comfort and offered a small and teen size option, which was perfect for my cycle. I learned that cup size is dependent upon cervix placement rather than level of flow. I have a medium level cervix, so a regular is uncomfortable for me. After using it the first time, I’d say it’s a worthy investment and makes period so much easier!
It is pretty ridiculous that the company obliges buyers to purchase two at a time. I wanted to try it out for at least 2 cycles before reviewing. I have worn diva cup for years and it's become dingy, so I was ready for the sassy, vibrant color of a new cup. I find the bloody buddy cup far too rigid. It stays in place fairly well, but each withdrawal is a painful ordeal because the cups rigidity results in it expanding fully as I remove it, and I just cannot get the leverage to keep it squeezed because it's just isn't not flexible enough. Insertion after that is also a challenge because I involuntarily clench from the recent discomfort of the insertion. I do not recommend and I won't continue using it. Both the used one and the undesired brand new one will go in the trash. Shame. I'm 40 yo and have given birth, for some additional context.
I wish I had switched to a cup sooner. It makes life on my period a million times better by greatly extending the time between changes, and not having to remember to buy tampons. I used to spend two days every month needing a bathroom every 2 hours, and now I can go at least 6 with no worries. The cup looks nice, feels nice, opens easily, and the packaging is great. I love that they come with little baggies, and their IG page is so ridiculously helpful, encouraging, and empowering. Recommending to everyone!
